A Little more about me…

Garrett Oyama is a Certified Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S. CCC-SLP) graduating from Emerson College in Boston in 2014. Since then, he has worked in a variety of settings including schools, private practice, fluency camp, research and curriculum design. He has given lectures in a wide variety of language topics at school districts, graduate school programs, along with the American Speech Language and Hearing Association Conference in 2018 and 2022. In his undergraduate university experience at the University of California, San Diego, he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Cognitive Science as well as Music Performance and also worked in a Language Cognition Lab. Garrett also worked as a touring music professional playing music internationally. Garrett is currently a PhD student at University of California, Los Angeles where he is researching the impact of digital devices on communication under PI, Anne Warlaumont.
